Governor's New Year Message

Fellow Nigerian youths in the Diaspora, As we approach a new year, I am filled with hope and optimism for what lies ahead. As the Governor of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Europe chapter, I am privileged to lead this dynamic group of young Nigerians making an impact in their respective fields. Firstly, I wish to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the President of the Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, and all NEC members for entrusting me with this role. Your trust and confidence are significant responsibilities, and I am committed to tirelessly advancing the interests of Nigerian youths in the diaspora. To my fellow youths, I urge you to actively engage in the council's activities. Together, let's strive to fulfill the vision of our founding fathers by creating a brighter future for ourselves and future generations. We owe it to ourselves, our families, and our nation to make a positive difference and embody the change we wish to see. I also commend our President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for initiatives like establishing a Ministry of Youth and granting autonomy to local governments, which demonstrate his commitment to youth empowerment.

However, more action is needed, especially regarding diaspora voting. It is our right to partake in the electoral process, and we must persist in advocating for this right. I also take this opportunity to urge the federal government to effectively utilize the NYCN platform to impact youth in all life areas. We are among the organizations capable of driving positive change in our nation, and your support is crucial to achieving this goal. I want to especially thank my team, the Europe executives, for their hard work and dedication to the NYCN. Your efforts are greatly appreciated, and I am proud to work alongside you. As we look to the future, let us remember that our actions are not just for ourselves but for future generations. Every Nigerian has relatives abroad, and we must work together to create a better future for all. In the coming year, we will continue to tirelessly advocate for the interests of Nigerian youths in the diaspora.

We will champion our rights, support one another, and celebrate our successes. The NYCN Europe Chapter is excited to announce that August 21st of every year is now National Youth Day in the Diaspora. This significant decision commemorates the formation of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, on August 21, 1964. By selecting this date, we align with the vision and aspirations of our founding fathers, who established the NYCN to offer a platform for Nigerian youth to unite and make their voices heard. To celebrate this special occasion, the NYCN Europe Chapter will host the inaugural Youth Day in Madrid, Spain, from August 21-23, 2025. This event promises to be an exciting celebration of Nigerian youth culture, achievements, and aspirations. As we anticipate this significant occasion, we invite all Nigerian youths in the diaspora to join us in commemorating National Youth Day and contributing to the development of our great nation. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for ourselves and future generations. Let us look to the future with hope and optimism. Let us create an environment where our youths can excel and reach their full potential. Wishing you all a very prosperous New Year, 2025.

God bless Nigeria!

God Bless Nigerian youths in the Diaspora!
